The
Fury
The last service
version of North American's Fury was the FJ-4B, flown for
the first time on 4 December 1956 and is an attack
version otherwise similar to the FJ-4 (later the F-1E).
North American built the first Fury, the FJ-1, as a
straight-winged shipboard interceptor, and its swept-wing
derivative became the Sabre. The FJ-4 first flew in
October 1954.
