Joined the Corps in 1941 and after recruit training he attended Aviation Metalsmith School.
Became SGTMAJ of the Death Angels in Feb 1960 and deployed to Atsugi with the squadron in 1963.
SgtMaj. Buckner's nickname by the troops was BE-No-Liberty due to the fact that these were the first words out of his mouth when we deployed or returned from deployments.
